W4T Labs is the shared workspace of Charles and Rachel. Two students who turn curiosity into research, code and award-winning projects across mathematics, computing, chemistry, and biology.

Why we built W4T Labs
We believe the best way to learn is through asking and answering our own questions. W4T Labs is where we build our prototypes, run our experiments and write our papers.
A lab bench, a keyboard, and a whiteboard
Our workspace is where hardware meets software. The lab bench is the birthplace of our physical prototypes, equipped with ESP32 development boards and digital sensors. Meanwhile, the keyboard and whiteboard serve as our command center for algorithmic design, debugging FTC robotics code, and mapping out complex mathematical theories. It is a collaborative environment dedicated to turning abstract STEM concepts into tangible, real-world solutions.

Mathematics & Cryptography
Rachel founded the Cryptography Club in 2021 and placed 1st in school, 2nd in BC for Waterloo University’s CIMC and Fryer Math contests. She also wrote an IB Extended Essay titled: “In-Depth Study of Miller-Rabin and Sieve of Eratosthenes and their Application Scenarios”, studying number theory and real world cryptanalysis.
Computing & Robotics
Charles takes a heavy interest in computing and software. He has a PySimpleGUI course on Udemy that is over 500+ minutes, and recognized by the official PySimpleGUI account. In his FTC robotics team, the Furious Frogs (26025), he serves as the lead coder and helps his team get ranked first in Canada during the 2025-2026 Decode season.
Distributed Computing & Open Science
Both members contribute to BOINC projects with idle compute. Rachel contributes to Rosetta@home for protein structure predictions and Charles for Einstein@home, which searches for for extraterrestrial gravitational wave searching.
